Scope of Career Growth in Hospitality Industry in Germany- 2022

Germany has a fast-growing hospitality industry. Tourism is expected to grow even further in the future due to the increasing number of travellers arriving. The country is also experiencing a growth in domestic tourism. Compared to the same period in 2018, overnight stays by Germans within their home country increased by 4% in the first half of 2019.The number of business and leisure trips in Germany are both on the rise. Over 200 brands are spread out throughout Germany, making it home to a number of companies.

Germany has a dynamic hospitality industry. German brands are among the top in the EU and are not completely dominated by domestic brands, as is the case with most EU countries. Independent brands or hotels are equally popular and cover most regions. Additionally, the brand penetration rate is increasing in Germany, with the increasing number of both domestic and international tourist activities.

There is ample evidence that the tourism industry in Germany is booming, with high hotel occupancy rates in many cities and ambitious expansion plans. The German hotel industry has a large number of independent hotels, with over 20,000 hotels serving all segments of the market and performing independently. International brands are well established throughout the most popular tourist destinations, and their rooms are high; domestic brands are well established in the tier-II cities, with good market penetration. In addition to arising in secondary cities, hotels are expected to also be built in Germany’s most significant business centres such as Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Several of these cities are popular tourist attractions/headquarters of prominent companies and as a result, their hospitality industry is continually growing. Smaller hospitality groups and independent hotels will be the most likely venues for hotel openings. There are however some international groups, as well as one leading domestic brand, which intends to expand in Germany.
